DEFINITION OF TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADERSHIP

Transformational leadership can be define as a leadership style that focuses on what leaders accomplish, rather than their personal characteristics or the reactions of their followers. It aims to change the status quo by helping followers identify problems in the current system and articulating a compelling vision of what a new organization could become.

MY OVERALL REFLECTION

Before the Course: Before enrolling in the UPPF 6033 course, I viewed leadership primarily as a role held by individuals in positions of authority, such as managers, supervisors, or organizational heads. My understanding of leadership was somewhat narrow, focusing mainly on decision-making, delegation, and the achievement of goals. I lacked a deeper appreciation of the various leadership theories, dynamics, and the psychological aspects of influencing and motivating others. Moreover, I was less aware of how leadership styles could impact team dynamics, organizational culture, and individual growth. After the Course: After completing the UPPF 6033 course, my perception of leadership has significantly expanded and evolved. I now understand leadership as a dynamic and multi-faceted process that extends beyond authority and decision-making.
